iPOWOW Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement 


Application

In this Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement, "we" and "us" refer to Political Media (Australia) Limited, and "our" has a similar meaning.

Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement applies to all aspects of the iPOWOW website service, including but not limited to the website and content available through www.iPOWOW.com and applications, software, goods and services offered through the Service and any iPOWOW accessed on another website (the Service), including the provision of content, participation in interactive parts of the Service and the purchase of services on the website.

Under Australian law, we are required to make available this Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement. This Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement explain in general terms how we protect the privacy of your personal information under the National Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). It also sets out the matters which we are required to disclose to individuals under National Privacy Principles 1.3 and 1.5. The principles set out in this Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement will apply to any personal information you provide to us via the Service or under any agreement or arrangement and to information which we collect about you from other sources. 

This Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement do not apply to our acts and practices that relate directly to the employee records of our current and former employees.


Gaining access to information we hold about you

We will, on request, provide you with access to the personal information we hold about you unless there is an exception which applies under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). 

Your request to obtain access will be dealt with in a reasonable time. We may recover from you our reasonable cost of providing you with access.

If we refuse to provide you with access to the information, we will provide you with reasons for the refusal and inform you of any exceptions relied upon under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).


How we collect your personal information

We generally collect your personal information directly from you and through your usage of the Service. We will collect certain information (such as the Service usage information) using automated tools that monitor your viewing, browsing and other use of the Service. We will collect other information (such as profile information, billing information, multimedia content and demographic information) by asking you to type in, upload or otherwise provide the information.

If you are logged in when we collect the information, we will associate this information with your account.

In collecting information from you, we may collect sensitive information (such as information about your ethnicity and health information).

We may also collect personal information about you when you deal with us over the telephone, send us correspondence (whether by letter, fax, email), when you use the Service, or when you have contact with us in person.

There may be occasions when we source personal information about you from a third party. For example, we may collect personal information from a company for whom you work, other organisations with whom you have any dealings, a credit reporting agency, an information service provider or from a publicly maintained record.

We consider it is the responsibility of parents to monitor their children's use of our web site. Nevertheless it is our policy not to require personal information from persons known to be under the age of 18 years or offer to send any promotional material to persons in that category.

As part of the Service, we monitor the videos you have watched and record information including your opinions of those videos, and prepare analysis and reports about the Service, the usage of the Service, and the opinions and demographic information of users of the Service. In order to provide the Service, we need to store your personal information (which may include sensitive information) associated with your login name. However, we will only disclose your sensitive information to our clients in an aggregated form that does not include information that identifies you.

Some of the information we request will be marked "optional" (in which case you may continue to use the Service without providing that information) and in some cases information we request will be marked "required". We may disclose your personal information to another person in the case of a merger, acquisition or sale of some or all of our assets.

We may disclose your personal information to our related companies and companies that become our related companies (in Australia and overseas) for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement.


Other people's information which you provide to us

If you provide personal information to us about someone else you must ensure that you are entitled to disclose that information to us and that, without us taking any further steps required by privacy laws, we may collect, use and disclose such information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement.

Security of your personal information

All personal information which we collect (including your contact details and, if relevant, credit card details) is kept confidential to the best of our ability. You will appreciate, however, that we cannot guarantee the security of transmission.

Transfer of information to foreign countries

The Service, including personal information you submit to the Service, is hosted outside of Australia. In addition, the Service may be accessed and used by people in foreign countries. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of data overseas.
